When I was a kid, my mom always told me to love my kid.
That she would give them the most amazing gifts, even if they didn’t live up to them.
She never told me she was making them feel better.
She didn’t care what they thought of themselves or what they did, but she was there for them.
When she told me that someday, she would die, I just couldn’t believe it.
She had given me so much to know about the world and what she loved, but I never really felt her presence.
Now, I’m here to tell you that I can.
My life isn’t perfect, but it’s not broken either.
I know my mom was good at giving her kids everything, but now I can’t even imagine how she would feel if I were to ever die.
I’m not ready to give up.
I am ready to find out what makes you tick, and to love your kid for who they are, forever.
