It’s been three years since the former England cricketer Gigi Mazzello signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur and he’s still not done.
Mazzello is back at it this season, having already scored a hat-trick against Watford and Aston Villa.
But he’s not done yet, despite not being named on the England squad for this summer’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Poland in Poland.
“I don’t know if I want to go, it’s not a good feeling.
It’s not like I can play for England,” said the 26-year-old, who has scored six goals in 11 appearances for Spurs.”
But I have played for England at the World Cup and I have been very happy with what I have done.”
It’s a bit like when I was playing in England at Under-21 level and I just couldn’t get the results.
“That’s why I wanted to come here and show what I can do here.”
When I came back to England, I did well, and I am happy with that.
“And I want Tottenham to do well too, because it is a very strong team.”
For England, the biggest thing is the quality.
They are always in the top three in the league.
“They are strong on the ball and very good in the final third.”
So I’m really happy.
I just hope I can help them a lot.
